Various Artists ‎– "Tu Quoque, Fili Mi" (Cauchy Productions) 1987

A rather strange Julius Caeser's assasination concept compilation from the home of the Cabbage comp's, Cauchy Productions of Belgium.
This one has a distinct Industrial flavour.
Hassan I. Sabbah would approve of the concept, so I suggest there is a wider target for this cassettes' themes of betrayal, and political ruthlessness.
When Caesar recognized his adopted son Brutus as being one of his murderers, his famous last words were "Tu Quoque, Fili Mi" (You Too, My Son). Adapted for modern day language by 'No Unauthorised' with their track "Toi Aussi, Mon Fils De Pute"....in other words, 'You too my son of a whore?'....bloody potty mouths spoil everything don't they?

Big City Orchestra ‎– "Substance Abuse" (The Subelectrick Institute) 1988

This one is more or less a Haters/BCO anti-supergroup,or poopergroup if you'd rather.Featuring noise cyclops G.X. Jupitter Larsen(the Haters),and occasional buddy AMX (Sometimes Hater).
They take us on a journey from that same old Freezer Centre again on track one, full of  humming and whirring refrigeration systems. Sending you sleeping to track two,to spend a night inside  the storage compartment of a vast empty oil tanker.
The third track finds the repairs team shoring up the tanker walls after it's ran aground, ironically leaking in the polluted dead waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
We end with the foundering tanker sinking slowly beneath the scummy ocean surface to rest on a barren sea bed covered with human detritus.
Its definitely BCO in subtle doom mode, and,in my opinion, one of their better C-60's.

The Haters - "De Haters" (BloedvlagProdukt) 1986

Another 'smashing' dutch released cassette by the famous one eyed industrial giant ,Gerald Jupitter-Larsen, further exploring the calming sound of destruction. Sounds not unlike a Shire Horse trotting through a scrapyard at midnight whilst having his arse slapped. If that doesn't tempt you to listen I dunno what will?!
Oh yes, it includes lots of trademark Glass breakage solo's too. I wonder if he played these glass solo's gurning with his foot on the monitors? Which wouldn't be too easy while wearing a mask; you'd never see Mick Ronson wearing a mask during a solo, no way!
This release does in fact contain the best sleeve notes eye have ever read. So for that reason I heartily recommend this attractive golden cassette for enregisterment.

The Haters - "Niet Hier" (Korm Plastics KP387) 1987

Out come the sound effects records again, but this time the mild audience murmuring at the start of this tape is actual audience murmuring, and not track 4 “Audience Chatter 2” from volume 7, BBC Showbiz sound effects. Yes, a Live recording of The Haters, aka G.X. Jupitter-Larsen(made up name), in Holland, complete with ambient audience noise , plenty car crash, glass smashing sound effects tapes, and some actual live destruction. As good as this sounds, it does tend to be a repetitious theme in every Haters release I have ever heard;which amounts to a grand total of three out of many. So, 'eye' hope there are some Haters releases with some diversity of ideas out there!
In all, an enjoyable simulation of the sound of destruction set to the natural rhythm of breaking glass.....again.

Minóy\Zannóy - "Mr. Chanes Deaf Mix For Jake Hobo" (ZH27 - 411) 1986

This is what those guys hear in their heads, y’know , the ones that cover the walls of their house in aluminium foil to stop their minds being probed? Certain persons have to take serious anti-psychotic medication to stop music like this occurring naturally, this is basically the world music for the 21stcentury,or even Nu-Folk with telepathy in place of song. It conveys what it feels like to be alive in an increasingly impersonal environment, where ones relationships are formed in isolation via a plasma screen. This is the inescapable cancerous throb of microwaves chopping up your genetic code, and rearranging it as the next mutation in this planets evolution. Or is it the sound of mankind’s last scream before the planet saves itself by bringing forth another mass extinction, like a human immune system would remove a bacterial infection. Either way, the future looks black, and I’m gonna cover my walls with Aluminium foil. “Why won't the voices Sttttttoooooopppppp!!??”
Maybe because I didn’t press the stop button!?

The Haters - "Future Cheers" (Sound of Pig SOP34) 1986

First of all may I make it clear that it is not clever to Hate anybody or anything, other than a few exceptions like: Lawyers,Bankers, Politicians,Talentless Celebrities,etc......the list goes on.Feel free to add to this list in the comments section.
Well,I suppose Hate is a too strong a word for the despicable cretins listed above, Disgust is more apt, maybe even Revulsion?
Can't say the same for The actual Haters, whose charming noise is quite on the opposite side of the sewer to the hideous pond-life of government officials.
Nick Lowe once warbled that he loved the sound of breaking glass, but, this record takes the BBC sound effects record to its logical zenith! Sample track 7a,"Smashing Glass 2",  from BBC Sound Effects volume 3; layer it over and over again, adding a tad of track 15, "Falling metal", from volume 5; repeat this for close to an hour, and you got yourself a sound collage representing a decaying society.
A fine way of annoying unwanted guests, again!
