At least, unlike the aforementioned 'Blind Faith'they at least had a naked consenting adult on their cover ,rather than a nude pubescent schoolgirl(who looked disturbingly like Robert plant?!) holding a model aircraft. We,civilised humanity, definitely needs an operation yew tree* investigation on sixities rock monsters....they'd ALL be banged up I can guarantee it.Unless they use the infamous Pete Townsend defense plea,and call Under-age sex.... This Italian Post-Industrial Super-Group, featuring the bloke from Mauthausen Orchestra and the bloke from Swastika Kommando, present two sides of yer standard Italian Power Electronics, resplendent with lo-spec artwork of an un-named female being,for want of a better word....'Fisted'.
When this came out I was naive/young enough to have dismissed the act of 'Fisting' as an urban myth.I now know better...NOT...I may add, to having experienced this dubious pleasure myself,giving or receiving ;but I MAY have seen video evidence from an un-named web based emporium that offers such specialized entertainment for the discerning self-whittler*,free of charge.
So, what i'm saying is,Industrial music is ,by far, morally superior to all Classic Rock.......BANG 'EM UP!
*Hideously sexist sixties rock supergroup featuring Clapton,Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood and Rick Grech (Who lived round the corner from me in my childhood council estate in Leicester,wheelchair bound, when his star had fallen with a massive crash!).
*UK Police investigation into sex abuse in British TV triggered by the Jimmy Savile scandal.
*a slang word for a 'masturbator', which one gleaned from "Beavis and Buttheads Ensucklopaedia"....a classic tome that should be on the required reading list of every school.

This compilation, compiled by Richard Rupenus of New Blockaders fame, tries nobly to dispel much of the criticism leveled against the industrial/power electronics genre as an all sound-alike group of TG/Whitehouse imitators(Which it largely IS). The great variety of styles, techniques and sounds displayed on this 20 track tape suggest that perhaps this genre is more of a philosophical collective rather than a purely aesthetic one.The truth being more like a mixture of both leaning strongly towards the Aesthetic shoebox that all these acts find themselves cornered in. All the performers included here are extreme and intense chaps, yet the gamut of sounds runs from new musique concrete via 23 Skidoo Funk (Bourbonese Qualk, Mixed Band Philanthropist) to dark ritualistic collages (Metgumnerbone), to skin peeling power electronics (New Sadism, Vortex Campaign). Then we have Observation Clinique, Konstruktivits,and David Jackman to provide the dark understated, avant garde end of the genre to make us all feel thick.And finally always the very odd one out, Paul Kelday is here to provide some Kosmishe inspired spacey electronics.
I was going to post all of the Swastika Kommando and related offshoots' Tapes individually.....but the sequence got ruined,fittingly, by the demise of Mark E. Smith. So, here's the 2014 complete Post-Industrial Noise career in a box anthology of Pietro Mazzocchin's 1983 works on Menstrual Recordings.(Most of these were originally on Broken Flag in fact).I assume the picture on the front of the box is not the man himself,so i'm guessing its a Nazi War Criminal......predictably enough). So pop a tampon (unused) in each ear,turn the volume up,and wait for your neighbours(if they're still talking to you?),girlfriend (If you have one?), and maybe even the Police to start banging on your door and walls shouting, "TURN THAT SHIT OFF!".

The same bloke who was know alternatively as Swastika Kommando and New Sadism, Pietro Mazzocchin, was also...yes, you guessed it.....no,not a nazi,....well maybe(?).....he was also Observation Clinique; who made this contribution for a three tape overhaul of Italian 'post'Industrial acts on Bourbonese Qualks label, Recloose Org in 1984.
"The Mental Answer 1" also made it out there as an album in its own right, and thinking of Pietro's favourite subject matter ,the mental answer was probably the pre-war Nazi Euthanasia program against the disabled.
Side A is the standard half an hour of untuned short wave radio static that we've heard a thousand times before.....OK we get it, you're an intellectual, albeit in your own lunchtime.
Side B sounds like a a thousand car theft alarms arguing with a flock of Seagulls.....unfortunately NOT the band, but an actual Flock of the rather noisy seabirds, and pissed-off ones at that. It does the trick nicely, inducing the emotion of anger as one reaches aggressively for the off button.If there's one noise that makes me wanna smash up any offending device more than a car alarm I'd like to know what it is?

For this exploration of extreme sex and violence as sonic paint stripper, I have decided to use the cover art from a later re-release on "Strength Through Joy" (would you believe it,a Nazi reference again?!), as the original cover was kind of inappropriate....in a schoolboy misogynistic way.....rather than just offensive. I've personally no problem with anything offensive,in fact positively encourage it, but I'm not risking an angry mob of aggressive,so-called, 'feminists' stalking my cyber footprints unless I can help it in these last days of the 'Male'.Just by typing this I'm risking being labelled a Misogynist Neanderthal Pervert.....mainly because I'm male with the misfortune to find females attractive; thanks in no small measure to naturally occurring Testosterone.

Having said that I do Not condone the behaviour depicted on the original Aquilifer Sodality release, or the subject matter frequently used by most Industrial artists to confront these issues head on.
Power Electronics' motives can be explained in a couple of ways.Either as a sonic mirror reflecting all of lifes horror back at us so we can confront ourselves, or, as a way of breaking through the Taboo's of the social construct we are trapped inside.The objective being 'freedom'.

Power Electronics in Italy wasn't just limited to Maurizio Bianchi and Pierpaulo Zoppo, we also have the debatable privilege to include Pietro Mazzochin (aka Swastika Kommando, New Sadism,and Obvservation Clinique) into this unholy triumvirate.
The rather unsubtly named Swastika Kommando (swas)sticks (see what I did?)faithfully to the standard Power Electronics formula of abrasive ear damaging electronic noise, padded cell style screaming vocals, and Nazi references-a-gogo.
It depends if you enjoy being reminded of the shear horror of life whether you can play this for more than 10 minutes or not, but its a fairly masterful attempt at the genre; complete with vocals that sound like the muffled screams of a kidnap victim bound and gagged in a coal-bunker after having several fingers removed to post to the victims loved ones.
