Camberwell Now ‎– "Dejaunost V Studentskem" (Nikad Robom ‎– 004) 1987

Camberwell Now were a different proposition in a live situation, where Steve Rickard's innovative analogue sampling method,"The Tape Switchboard", could be used to the max. Strangely subtle on the studio recordings, but less so on this live cassette recorded in  Ljubljana in former Yugoslavia(Now Slovenia).
The acoustics of this venue has the ambient qualities of a large steel drum,so the sound is pretty harsh, like its being played over one of those awful public announcement systems at a railway station.Very noisy.
Nevertheless, this is a rare document of live Camberwell Now,and is therefore of great interest to those with a This Heat OCD.

Thanks for sharing all this This Heat/Camberwell Now material. I have a tape I recorded of Camberwell Now live at the ICA in around 1982 I must digitise and share with you here as it's great quality too off my little Sony professional Walkman recorder!!

Keep up the fine shares

Cheers

Would be well interested to hear that ICA one as well Mr. S! Was that the gig Amos (L.Voag) played with them? Or does my memory serve me wong? Amos also recorded an album with Charles Hayward that never saw the light of day, at least I've never seen it ... but come to think of it, I don't go out much during the day. BTW fantastic clutch of This Heat related posts! I lost all this stuff in a suitcase that fell down five flights of stairs and was crushed by a bin lorry.

Why is it always the bin lorry that does this? Ooooo, it makes me maaaad!

Thanks so much. Oh, and I'd also love to hear that ICA '82-ish recording if you have time to upload it, Robin. Cheers all ♫♪.ılılıll|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|llılılı.♫♪

Greetings! I've got a Camberwell Now live recording from somewhere in Germany (I think): excellent sound quality--I think it's from a radio broadcast, and it's got most of the tracks from the first LP and the second EP. Run time is about 45 minutes or so. It's missing all the improv from that cavernous sounding boot, but, like I said, the sound quality is great! Let me know how I can send you a copy, if you're interested--and I do highly recommend this!

Sadly, I had to pay for the freakin' thing--and all I got was an MP3. Whatever. But I figure sharing it with the world will teach that unethical sort a lesson.

Hello again. Just a follow up on the Camberwell Now live post--I didn't check the email follow-up box. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll send you the files. Also, the show is from '87 and features Maria Lamburn, as well.

Hi,
yes i am ,of course, very interested. You can send the files of my e-mail address....jonnyzchivago@yahoo.co.uk
or upload them to mediafire/zippyshare and e-mail me the link.
Sharing it is the way to stop these dodgy chaps selling music for dosh that never finds its way to the artists pockets. It makes us noble bloggers look like paragons of virtue.....which we are.
I await news....still waiting for Scanners recording of the ICA show after a year and a half.....i'm sure he's too busy.
