Jandek ‎– "Brussels Saturday" (Corwood Industries ‎– CORWOOD 0817) 2015

As one is in the middle of doing all things Belgian, and Jandek Monday is looming once more;it's only too right to include some Jandek Improv from the European, and Belgian, capital of Brussels.
Recorded live at the Ancienne Belgique, Brussels, Belgium, April 19, 2014.
Annelies Van Dinter is the lucky Belgian installed on the drum kit,and again we have suspected Jandek spouse, Shiela Smith, adding her multi-facetted skills to the mess.
In places it sounds like classic Jandek with accompaniment,at others it sounds like a Han Bennink album, with the poor mans Derek Bailey himself ,aka Live era Jandek, up front and smokin'.
You could play this album at a University Lecturers cheese and wine do and they'd all think it was an avant garde classic that they all pretend to know......no it ain't Evan Parker,Bennink and Bailey, its Jandek you pretentious berks!

Tracklisting:

1 In My Mind 8:17
2 Friday Morning 36:42
3 Phantom Touches 10:20
4 Maybe You've Died 8:05
5 The Blue Sky 9:21

Now that's the kind of focused, toe-tappin' sunshine pop I expect from Jandek! Not sure what went wrong with the last two, even tho' I like 'em better.
