Sigillum S ‎– "Live At Helter Skelter 17/1/87" (Order Ov Wolves) 1987

This is more like it, a bit rough round the edges, and more noisy.Like a spooky Monastery, yes, but as it was being burnt down by Henry the eighth's goon squad. Tribal sounding first generation Digital Drum Machines pound out a slave ship rhythm, taking us relentlessly to the witch trials, while the boys fill the spaces with unsettling electronic noises, and Swans-esque vocals. All with that X-factor of Live performance, replacing the sterile control of  the studio.Good stuff indeed, but very mid eighties sounding; it's those good awful digital drum machines! Question : Would this sound half as menacing if we turned the echo machine off? (I think not.)
