Deef – "Real Control" (Mass Record) 1984

Starting with a sentiment that we can all agree on, this bunch of brutal Japanese Punk Rockers takes no prisoners,play it loud until you too become Deef.

Old Punk Rocker Heroes such as the terminally awful John Lydon,are almost as bad as their fans,and should do us all a favor and voluntarily turn themselves in at the sadly fictional local extermination camps for gobshite Rockers.

Turning from enemy of the state number one,into housewives favourite, never before have we heard such self-congratulatory verbal vomit as we have in the last decade or so from Neil Young's Punk of preference (says it all dunnit?).Unfortunately,Johnny didn't heed Neil's sadvice and proceeded to fade away rather than burn out.. Having said that I would still turn into a giggling fan boy if by some quirk of reverse indefference I should ever meet Him; He having such a deep influence on the teenage Zchivago,a nose in front of William Shatner and Steve Priest(RIP) would reduce me to a sweating nervous titter should I ever, in earth as it is in Heaven? My Dignity strewn among the wreckage of my free-falling self esteem.

Like a Doubting Thomas of the as-yet unwritten Rock'n'Roll Bible, I have often denied any knowledge of J. Rotten's existence;a Judgement mainly based the endless toe-curling clap-trap this arrogant gob-shite proudly continues to spew forth from 1981 until the present day!? And the public and the dodgier corners of the Media  take it seriously as if this Tubby Tory Tosser is some kind of populist philosopher!? Like his best mate Piers Morgen who would splash a spray of spittle soaked Sycophancy in the general direction of Rottens Arse, whilst exclaiming that he had bought "Never Mind The Bollocks" as a privately educated Yoof..When I die I would love my ashes to be scattered in Peirs Morgans' eyes.

There are similar dick-eads too numerous to list here of course, eg Cave, Geldof.....are they not the same person?....and many others,all of which should have become a noble recluse ,not unlike the Great Syd Barrett,whom I am told was one of Lydon's many influences!???

Then we have the Rebellion Festival look,of beer bellies,fading Tat's,bald heads, shorts and training shoes.Waddling to the Cockney Rejects, reminiscing about their fantasy gig list.Ahhh the night that the UK Subs came to town.

There's a youtube interview with the least stupid member of Spandau Ballet, who went to the Pistol's Screen On The Green show, like I wasn't there too. He saw the Pistol's ,aged 14,and formed Spandau Ballet the next day!?.....let's analyse that for a second? He saw the Sex Pistols and Formed Spandau Ballet? He really couldn't have been listening!?...or there at all, like the thousands who reckon they were.

One always meet these people down the pub and similar social outings,who can't wait to tell you that they're an aging "Punk"?...(If you're a Punk, mate, I certainly ain't). They talk about these fictitious gig nights like they were actually in the Band,and use words like "important" and "crucial"and how they formed a band the next day after seeing 'The Pistols'.

Well, Deef probably have beer bellies forty years on too,but as they are Japanese they're probably genetically slim still;but I'm sure they aren't still touring like The UK Subs...nobodies that irrelevant...surely?

So,"We kill all Punk Rock Heroes"....yes even Gary Kemp,the criminal who wrote "Gold"....cus' he was there you'know...and we weren't.

Various Artists– "ADK Omnibus Vol.1" (ADK Records – ADK-03E) 1983

Another.....well,one, of two ADK Jap Punk compilations,...volume One in fact, has landed. And pretty manic stuff it is too. Featuring such household names as Sodom , Sekinintenka, Cain, and Gaddess to further damage your sensitive ear filaments with. Well probably not household names at all actually...not even in Tokyo.

No tattoo's on these proper punk rockers. Sporting one of those silly doodles on a Japanese arm was a virtual death sentence in 1983 Japan; akin to wearing a Nazi Armband in mid seventies London. It was certainly easier to Shock in the land of the rising volume levels,as the unwritten rules were enforced with an icy unspoken frostiness as the shadow of the not yet deceased Emperor loomed large....rather like the shadow of Hitler loomed over Argentina.

No such problem in the UK however,but give or take a few Decades and the British were under the iron boot of the Industrial Revolution while the Japs were farting about with Paper as a secure building component. Both Japan and The British Isles,were blighted with the cruel burden of good manners,and drive on the Left, so inevitably Punk Rock was always gonna happen. Nonetheless, a British Punk Rocker would tell his audience to Fuck Off both inside and outside of the concert hall, whereas the Japanese equivalent would likely bow and  thank the seething mass of bobbing black hair for their time.

Like a Kamikaze human drone slamming into an American aircraft carrier , this stuff takes no prisoners...just like the Japanese Army.

PS. Track 7,"夜姦菌孤" is basically Public Image Ltd's "Socialist" from Metal Box with a different singer,and better guitarist is it not?

Punk Rock was made for compilations. One single per band, 15 minute sets per gig,and if there's anything left,of which there shouldn't be if you're a proper Punk Rock band, then that gets stuck on a compilation dunnit?

Using the same criteria for the Japanese, Punk rock was made for da Japanoise Yoof to vomit out the relentless oppression of Japanese Culture......the poor sods.

It's a bit like how da English yoof got liberated by a combination of first wave American Rock'n'Roll and ,ironically, being trapped in the poverty of a bankrupt Britain created by the massive loan...yes I did say 'Loan', that the American Government gave the Churchill Govt to buy armaments from the United States to fight the Third Reich on behalf of of the rapidly diminishing Free World.

Ironically still, no such conditions were foisted upon the axis powers after their inevitable defeat.They all got massive financial reparations to build their economies into the giants they are today.

The 'Brits', they got rationing, powdered egg and Bombed out homelessness. Punishement for giving the Japs the idea of torpedoing the enemy navy in their harbour with light aircraft....exactly what the Brits did to the Italian Navy in the Mediterranean the same year.

However,both Germany, Italy and Japan, didn't have the vibrant youth culture that was produced out of the UK austerity plan post war.

As the last Japanese soldier surrendered in the mid-seventies, things had begun to loosen up a little in Nippon. Disemboweling noise and relentlessly fuming Punk Rock emerged from the polite world of Jap Society. And some of the finest disemboweling shit it is too, as collected on this fine shared jap-core compilation featuring some very pissed off sons of Nippon.

The Comes – "No Side" (City Rocker Records – DOG 2) 1983

One of the more annoying traits of post-punk hardcore records is when they get their artist mate to hand draw the album art. Usually it's a bunch of cartoon punx in denim and levver, but I dunno whats going on here? 

It could be a terrible tattoo art version of The Comes lead singer, the delightful Chitose.....(pronounced Shit'ouse? maybe?) crossed with Princess Diana....after the accident.

In real life Shit'ouse is a lot easier on the eye, and doesn't hold back in the ferocious vocals department.These are the things that display more than a passing resemblance to Melt Banana's less experimental moments.

Talking of Shit Houses, In my charming council estate back in the UK, the really inbred family on my street used to have "Shit'ouse" daubed on the broken door of the toilet in dripping black gloss.These were the local representatives of the Underclass,and frequently decided to threaten me with violence,if only for the fact that i could actually stand up straight,rather than be trapped in a permanent state of scoliosis.That's genetics for ya.

Early Factory Records signing Kevin Hewick also grew up in the same area(Eyres Monsell,Leicester),and has just released a new Album on that very subject, called "Monsell Skyline"...it's great.  

Eyres Monsell,A hard, bleak, hopeless place....but I love it,in a stockholm Syndrome kind of way;and whilst drunk last Tuesday, i said i wanted my ashes to be scattered there.We are strange beasts us Humans innit?

Melvins – "A Tribute To Pop-O-Pies / Tales Of Terror" (Amphetamine Reptile Records – SCALE 139) 2013

With the honor of being the only American representatives on this series of Tribute records by Melvins;but What,or who, the fucking hell were Pop-O-Pies? Sounds a bit like the pies filled with abattoir floor scrapings,spines and eyeballs,that i ate at half-time during a football match in the 80's,'Pukka Pies'.So, I thought it must be some American kids TV show or something worse,with a resident teenage Punk group in tow from about 1984.Awesome Doood!?....definitely NOT!

So, I suppose i'll have to do some research...although I'll probably prefer my estimation more than the hard facts.

The Los Angeles Times said "The Pop-O-Pies were called "absolutely the worst band in California", and having listened to this Melvins cover, I could  absolutely agree absolutely. One of those awful bratty Californian post 1980 skatecore type groops of 16 year olds,with ripped jeans and converses'. The roots of Blink 182 can be found here. Of course there will be Californians who disagree.

So, I hesitantly move on to side B, and the equally obscure Tales Of Terror (Sacramento 82-86) .

I Wikipedia'd it and saw a few keywords,"Nirvana and Grunge", that made me abandon my mission immediately.....I Quote: "Their only LP greatly influenced rock bands Green River/Mudhoney and Nirvana. Considered by many as innovators to not only the Skate Rock sound and aesthetic but as well as Grunge???.....crimes that should not go unpunished.

The only Tale of Terror I can imagine is actually being inflicted a proto-grunge gig or record upon oneself, featuring any bands like this. But at least it's not Brown Day,or No Fun 41,or Wank 182. Small mercies.

Unbelievably I found a North Korean Punk band!?....well...er....no, not really. Just looking at the picture of young people just having fun would be crime enough for them to have been executed by artillery fire in the Peoples Democratic Republic on the wrong side of the Demilitarized Zone where 'Fun' is strictly Illegal and enforced.

No,Slant are certainly NOT North Korean,nor are they a Korean Slint tribute band....although 'Slant' the 'Slint' Tribute band should really exist somewhere? They are ,however, from the Korean peninsula,on the right side of the Demilitarized Zone.south of the 38th parallel.

They play american style 21st century Hardcore Punk very efficiently, with a rather attractive be-tattooed young lady screaming some lyrics about how crap it is in the north (bit like it is in England)and loud enough to detach a couple of her Tattoo's.

Rumour has it that Kim Jong-Un has taken a shine to the young lady singer Keji,and is considering having her kidnapped and forced to consummate a marriage with one of his belly's. Should she not comply, the same fate that befell the charming singer of his father's best favourite band,Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble,Yun Hye-yong,would apply to her. Which is to be the only person to be executed while still in a coma from a desperate escape attempt.

Of course ,Kim Jong-Un hasn't really got his beady little roving eye on young Keji at all...I'm making it up in the tradition of all great Dictators everywhere.Taken to new heights recently by Phil Collins impressionist and short arse,Vladimir Putin,who also isn't too shy about shagging about either.

Doom – "War Crimes (Inhuman Beings)" (Peaceville – VILE 4) 1988

With the haunting image of a dead young woman probably reaped and murdered, lying in a street in Ukraine,and driven over by several Russian tanks operated by laughing Russian murderers lingering in my thoughts.One wonders what possible music from within the barricades of the rock idiom could encapsulate the horror and anger generated by these inhuman war crimes,and still be able to dance to it?

Of course I reached for Doom's debut, and cranked up the amps.

Yeah,it sounds like a crustier Discharge with different vocals,and i'm not too much of a fan of that Growly " Your Grandmother sucks cocks in Hell" vocal style so beloved of Grindcore, but......there's something relevant within the dark walls of this relentless high speed bludgeon that is the perfect accompaniment to this ,among many such evils perpetrated in the current Doom laden situation we find ourselves falling into.

This blog started during the Credit crunch,and flourished through the insane Pandemic voluntary imprisonment years,and both of these are still with us to some extent...especially the debt,debt slaves which we are.Now,we have a very real nuclear threat like it was the 80's again.....not a bad thing in someways?.....World leaders with the IQ's of a slug pushing a malformed idiot's philosophy,in the words of one slug brained idiot....the rise and rise of Semi-Fascism.

On top of all that,galloping inflation, and an energy debt crisis spiraling exponentially out of control,where energy Bills are close to being more than a living wage.Its expensive, but strangely they don't seem to be running out of the stuff....if you've got the dosh there's an unlimited supply apparently!?

Environmental change is forgotten as priorities turn towards obtaining enough food to eat,and we're burning our houses to keep ourselves warm again.As our delightful Russian chum's are burning off 10 million dollars of unsold methane gas into the atmosphere every day!?.....we've never had it so bad,and are catching up World War 2 fast.

Here's the best part....and it's gonna get worse!.....We're DOOOOMED!

Ad Nauseam – "Demo" (Manic Tapes – Manic L.0.3) 1984

Ad Nauseam, from Portsmouth(keep that quiet!),were one of those generic UK82 hardcore bands who wanted to be Discharge,but were four years too late,so now they had to lessen their ambitions by just wanting to be the Exploited, mohawks and simplistic politics included.

To their credit, some attempt has been made since their earlier recordings, to 'progress' in some way.

There'a mixture of Hardcore styles on display here,if its possible to register any discernible difference whatsoever between the lot of 'em, apart from the fact that some of 'em play it better than the others.... maybe?

This tape has sections of Yobbed-up US Hardcore,a bit of D-Beat,lots of UK82 street Oi and even a melodious track (i suspect the beginning of track 2 was nicked from Fripp and Eno is it not? Closet sophisticates or wot?).All fronted by a potty-mouthed 'Wattie' clone.

Fripp,Eno and Wattie.....still waiting for that one.

 As much as I enjoy the music(?),for want of a better word, I find the lifestyle these leather clad hooligans lead,a tad nauseating,hence the name, claustrophobic,and more than a tad depressing.If i wanted to join the army or a cult there are better options,mainly a cult with a higher ratio of girls to boys for a start.Is there a tastefully dressed hardcore punk sex cult out there? The Davidians of Waco had a suitable PA system,it just needed some decent music to be played over it rather than just David "I'm Jesus me honest" Koresh. The group could have played as the building burned down,and out-done G.G. Allin,for one night only.

I would hazard a guess that the various members of Ad Nauseam,still dress like that,with receding mohawk hair cuts.....quite like "Wattie" himself,who, several heart attacks later is still the epitome of UK82 hardcore Punk from the British Isles.Now roundly exported to all corners of the known planet

One has to admire the barely articulated rage of the British working class youth back in 1982,as un-articulated by Portsmouth located UK82 Hardcore band 'Ad Nauseam',with their rather catchy underground 'Hit' dedicated to the dubious achievements of a dead Prime Minister,namely the right honorable, former member for Finchley, Margaret Thatcher.....contracted for poetic reasons to just "Fatcher";a pronunciation which helps the tongue twisting nature of expectorating the "Th" sound, at 70 miles per hour several hundred times in the sing-a-long chorus of track number One.

Yer average Sex Pistols fan had to choose which side they were on when their bestest favourite Punk Rock group split up. Go with John Lydon and invent Post-Punk, or go in the shouty leather jacketed direction of the Sid Clone for the rest of their natural lives.

I can quite comfortably say that Ad Nauseam went in the direction of the latter. Although, I must commend the Sid clone on dumping Sidney's total lack of any moral standpoint whatsoever.I don't think Sid gave a shit about war or poverty,but his clones did,rather surprisingly. The G.G. Allin direction was, thankfully, only followed by a small minority of morons......but, one has to say,if you're gonna embrace the cruel inevitabilites of  the Rock'n'Roll dead end in all it's Nihilistic glory and celebrated stupidity,then G.G. and Sid played the role to the very last ransom note letter.

When the Punk Rock Super Nova burnt out,collapsed under its own gravity and left a super-massive black hole to fill;just this side of the event horizon were thousands of inarticulate shouty groups like Ad Nauseam decked out in denim and levver ,but,strangely, with the imported moral mindset of politico-punk sophisticates,Sham 69(?).

Its actually all quite funny stuff ,yet i'm still dumbfounded as to how it all came down to this? Rock'n'Roll's lowest common denominator.

Stretchheads – "Five Fingers, Four Thingers, A Thumb, A Facelift, And A New Identity" (Moksha Recordings – SOMALP 2) 1988

Stretchheads first proper Lp,with a few 30 second symphonies repeated in new form from the earlier cassette. Short songs were rather fashionable around 1988,epitomized by Napalm Death's "You Suffer", clocking in at one second...unless some smart alec adds reverb like on the Peel Session version,so that version was timed approaching the ten second barrier.

One must take issue whether a 20 second tune actually qualifies as an actual 'Song'? 

Just playing a high speed riff with a lunatic repeating a phrase a few times, then stopping at a random moment around twenty seconds isn't really enough.I mean, what's stopping you playing the same riff for a whole hour  with the same sentence screamed over and over again (sounds good to me?) ,is that a different song?Or Not a song?

An Avant Garde statement on the disposable culture of the 20th and 21st century it may be,but Songs have to have some kind of structure to be called yer actual 'Song' innit?

Personally I'd like just one half hour tune, played in the classic Stretchheads' Beefheart meets Melt Banana in  Pycho-Ward Z at hyper-sonic speed stylee.....no unwelcome end of track and here's another one stuff;a bit like watching adverts i suppose...or another Avant-Garde Proto-Grind statement on the corporate west....I dunno do I?

Either way, there was certainly nothing like this bunch of nutters in 1988...at least outside of Japan.

The Front cover depicts a classic scene of Spontaneous Human Combustion,leaving just the extremities .......kinds sums up The Stretchheads most adequately indeed.

"She's got Myra Hindley Eyyyyyeeeessss".....remember that Hit for Kim Carnes?....or was it Dickie Davies Eyes?.....one of the two anyway.

Dickie Davies, for the minuscule minority who are ignorant,on a need to know basis,that,Dickie Davies presented Itv's 'World of Sport' every saturday on British TV.Oh yeah, and Myra Hindley was the blonde one in The Moors Murderers....Nooooo, Not that Punk Group of the same name which Chrissy Hynde and Steve Strange were in for five minutes in 1977, yer actual child killing Moors Murderers.

Anyway,Those Scottish types ooop north weren't wasting their time watching World Of Sport on saturday lunchtime,oh no...they were down the pub getting pissed (as in 'very drunk' for you yankophones).In the case of the Stretchheads,they were busy getting Pished (scottish for Pissed for you Anglophones),then going on to rehearsals after last orders.I'm sure they intended to sound like The Shrubs,but ended up sounding like an Exhibit A recording of one of The Moors Murderers'(not the group!) victims being tortured,....if they were in their twenties and extremely pished.

This deranged version of Grind-core meets Captain Beefheart, on past their sell-by date amphetamines, would have been the perfect soundtrack for a child killing,but Brady(The Scottish one)and Hindley's artist of choice was The Ray Conniff Singers christmas album (This is pure Evil...the Little Drummer Boy) to accompany the torture of Lesley Anne Downey,which they recorded.....crazy but true.That one was indeed Exhibit A at their trial,and doubtlessly still exists in the vaults at New Scotland Yard.....potentially Throbbing Gristle before Throbbing Gristle?...Whereas, Stretchheads were potentially Grind-Core before Grind-Core, but without any reference to Impending Nuclear destruction or evil multinational corporations leading us all from enslavement to obliteration.....y'know, that kind of thing.

The nearest equivalent has to be something Japanese? Maybe Melt Banana? A duet between Yasuko Onuki(Melt Banana) and P6 (that's the name of the Stretchheads' singer,screamer,vocalist etc???);would be something to behold.....except The Stretchheads split up and Melt Banana plough a lone furrow of truly demented Hardcore still...so no headlines of "Melt Banana Split" can get me off the hook anytime soon!

Any group with a vocalist called P6,high speed prog rock chord sequences,and recorded well into the red Zone has to be good? No?

They should have been rightly revered by the Noise-Core youth of today, but they did the right thing by splitting,citing record company theft as a primary motivation....so they now advocate illegal downloading of their back catalog....so you can make the band happy by starting HERE!...and make me feel like Dennis Moore giving lupins to the Poor again.I love you all.

Anti Cimex – "Victims Of A Bombraid / Raped Ass" (Distortion Records - DISTLP9) 1994/1983)

More Swedish D-Beat from Anti Cimex,who basically played the same track,and wore the same clothes, for the ten years or so of their existence. They sounded like Discharge, looked like Discharge,wrote about the same things...or rather 'Thing' singular(i.e. Nuclear annihilation),as Discharge, and even supported Discharge whenever their heroes played in Sweden. Slightly more conventional, and far less brutal than Swedish faves The Shitlickers, but its still fun to listen,open mouthed, and wonder how groups like this ever came into being,and how they lasted for longer than one demo tape?

What was the game of the Arseholes?......Golf of course?

Shitlickers – "GBG 1982" (Expanded version) 1982

That Stoke-On-Trent look travelled quickly to our Scandinavian chums just across the North Sea.The American Hardcore dressed down image firmly rejected for that popular Northern English more Sid than Sid caricature that still pollutes the highways and by-ways of many a town from Santiago to Vladivostok (travelling clockwise of course!) . These guys liked Discharge....a lot.And who can blame 'em.Rather magnificent was Discharge for an album and a half at least.....But...This Shitlickers EP,now expanded from the same sessions, wins my personal award for the best Hardcore and its derivatives vinyl EP ever self-released by a bunch of scandinavian spikey tops this side of the north sea oilfields.

Only five years between Wire's seminal "Pink Flag",the LP wot started this ultra reductionist approach, and this bizarre racket is what Punk Rock had evolved into by 1982.Times moved fast back in them daze. Now the renaissance has finished,nu-forms are stuck in the quicksands as is time.

Your author has come across a fan review which included a fine description of the...er... music(?), served rare on this black vinyl platter.I think this sums up the sound most adequately indeed:

"Fantastic EP that sounds like it was recorded in a rusty garbage can covered in piss"(Unknown critique).....one of course concurs somewhat.

Besthöven - "Os Mortos Insepultos" (Self-Released Demo) 1995

There aren't too many Shitlickers covers going around,but Brazil's D-Beat kings Besthoven did a cover of "Warsystem". Although this demo tape makes Shitlickers sound like they were produced by Trevor Horn.....well,not quite,but you get what I mean.

Who would have thought that a dressing style which once populated the grey streets of Stoke-On-Trent,uk, circa 1981 would crop up in the homeland of Bossa Nova in the mid-nineties?

Its brutal stuff but there's some much needed space in the recording,the clangorous knuckle dragging bass is audible among the six-stringed savage bees attack going on around it;and the drums surf atop,this wave of zero-fi cassette tape meltdown effortlessly.Making a disintegrating bespoke frame for the strangled vocals which seemed concerned very much with human disabilities,although not the disability for the average human to listen to fine music like this without getting a headache.

Just noticed I have yet to put any of the beyond great Shitlickers work on this blog!?....a glaring omission indeed.

Genocide Association – "Sonik Lobotomy Demo Tape" + "Sonik Lobotomy Bootleg EP" (self-released) 1983

As a bit of a fair-weather Hardcore Punk fan,if I can,or endorse someone else,being a fan of anything; wot are my bestest three Hardcore albums?......this kind of behaviour strays dangerously into record collector twat-geek territory,but, believe me there is a point to all this,just bare with me.

I like that first Discharge Album,if you can actually call Discharge Hardcore,it sounds more like an avant garde masterpiece to me.Then top of the US Hardcore tree has to be Jerry's Kids' rather good "Is This My World" record....was that drummer on some type of performance enhancing drugs I wonder?

So, number one has to be, no not Minor Threat,nor,Napalm Death mk1,and incredibly not even Impulse Manslaughter.

Of course,and you may have already guessed....especially as the title is on display at the top of the page, It's ,from the home of Grindcore,Nottingham's own, Genocide Association innit?

105 brief tracks,or one long track depending on how you hear it, of cut'n'paste hardcore plunderphonia squeezed into 30 fun filled minutes.Apparently Minor Threat did actually get looped somewhere on this tape.....there's a prize for he who locates it.

What makes this even better is, in the proud tradition of fake bands,Genocide Association are nothing more than Dig of earache Records,before he'd heard of Thatcher's Enterprise allowance scheme....yes,Thatcher gave us Napalm Death and Grindcore...and mate Dayve from some other group. They had the bright idea to cut up a bunch of Hardcore demo tapes,rejig the constituent parts and make some rather crazed backing tracks for their shouty vocals.So, ideologically, this tape has a lot going for it in the Die or DIY? ethos of copying obscure cassette works from the punk hinterland and giving them new life. This was early Plunderphonics for want of a better synoptical cliché. If John Oswald had come up with this, it would have been lauded as an Avant-Garde statement of Noble Prize winning proportions.....rather like Discharge's first album. There are times when one asks oneself,"What the fuck am I Listening to"?...Which is the number one,and increasingly rare, look-for moment in any music is it not?

As mentioned in The Maximum Rock and Roll musical toilet paper, and Hardcore Bore Bible:

"Genocide Association (are) A bunch of xtreme nihilists/anartwits who despise the widely held concept of 'Anarchie' .. Possess no instruments.. Cynical to the point of lunacy."

How much more 'Punk' can one get than having no instruments,believing in nothing as controlling or as silly as Anarchy as your raison d'etre, and best of all, never playing a gig.

The fact that this was before samplers were affordable,and all this was done by laboriously editing the vocal-less parts from a pile of Punk Rock cassettes onto a couple of Cassette decks riff by riff, play/record/pause, change tape, repeat,is nothing short of inspiring .So the time signature can get a trifle eccentric from time to time,and the patchwork style sonik quality is endearingly inconsistent,veering from rich boy demo studio quality to one mike in a garage static fog 

So, yeah, this is the best Hardcore Punk Recording of Allllll Time,musically and ideologically....Discuss.

Sieg Heil – "First Demo (Nazism)" and "Second Demo" (Violent Party Records) 1984

 Well, here's a novel idea. How's about I post music as featured in the radio show,like the one wot i just posted here! innit?

There's nothing like getting up the noses of the self-righteous, the indignantly politically correct,the 'Likers',or mr and mrs Standard Views,and their rotten children.

Somehow,It got filtered down to the furthest corners of the globe that British Punks wore swastika's and didn't care who knew it.They wrote humorous songs about the Holocaust,spent half their dole money on studs for their leather jackets,didn't like nuclear war,but basically, existed purely to upset as many people as they possibly could in the shortest possible time.

Sieg Heil from, Kyushu Japan, achieved all of this without one moments hesitation, or even Thought!? 

They had a song/thing, called "I Hate Crass" too.Such perfection.

Best not to think about things too much if you're discovering the elemental particles of music,in the rush to shit out the lowest common denominator of music,and/or even Taste....ugh!

'Taste', is a by-word for the kind of awful suffocating type of normal that stifles excitement,and the forward gears of discovery.Even if it means going back to move forward.

Tactical withdrawal was not a phrase that Hitler ever understood....thankfully,or we may have all been wearing Hugo Boss approved outfits for the last 70 odd years....very smart though....nice shiny boots? Or, failing that, for those of us who don't require factor fifty to go out in the sun or have a big nose,stripy pajamas and free accommodation in the east.

The European equivalent of Seig Heil, and also from another former Axis power, was Italy's "Hitler SS",who redefined the word Stoopid with their own special brand of unthinking punk rock.

In the race to reverse back to zero Italians were up there manning the fifth reverse gear of those one forward gear Italian Tanks,and flying the white flag in the face of all those open mouthed Italian Prog groups.

However, the Japanese were never renowned for their surrender habit.They jumped off cliffs with their children to certain death rather than capitulate to the invading normality of the west.I'm surprised they even gave up after being nuked twice.

Sieg Heil only manged two demo's,but i'm sure the constituent parts carried on in a similar vain,hiding out in the dense rain forest on one of those south pacific islands,Still attired in their studded leather jackets and torn jeans, thinking that the Punk Wars were still raging 50 years after we all gave up....sounds a lot like certain parts of rural France actually!?  

How 'Wrong' could one go?.....Sieg Heil are no far off 11 on the erroneous scale of wrong rock...so wrong its right.....and so terribly recorded as if a huge fizzing close-miked alka-seltzer was the guitarist,and the drums were recorded via an antique telephone like the ones seen in those Keystone Cops movies.Somehow,impossibly, the quality even manages to go down for the second Demo.This is a unique achievement,which in other more sedate waters would be bestowed the title of "Award Winning" in the sparsely inhabited field of lo-fidelity pop music.Especially for pop music as Unpopular as this.

Who invented Punk? Who Cares, is the correct answer;but listening to this it was most certainly NOT the fucking Ramones!
