Eyeless In Gaza ,the kings of the Nuneaton sound, got their single out well before Bron Area(probably had more money?),and sounded immediately more sophisticated and capable than their local rivals. They seemed to come out of the womb fully formed,and unleashed a torrent of the highest quality,and emotionally charged minimal post punk avant-soul.Three EP's and two albums within the space of a year!?
This one is their debut vinyl on their own DIY label Ambivalent Scale from 1980, and displays a repeated interest in photography as a psychological catalyst for rebirth,or time travel.

I've got a copy of this with hand-written stickers on the label instead of printed labels. Any idea what is going on? I've seen other copies with printed labels on the vinyl.
Just guessing, but i think the hand written labels are probably the first run,and the printed ones are later.
makes me almost feel young again, thanks! back in those days I was some sort of fan of them and it took ages to find that first 7". of course I also had to have the one with the different cover, which ... took [more] ages to find. but in the meantime I managed to get peel to play my request for "kodak ghosts" and even mention my name on the show. man I was proud! and young.
Hand written stickers on blank white labels = first run. Killer 7"!
Apparently, the printed label version was done by Cherry Red after they signed them up......so i've been informed.
