L. Ron Hubbard / Yvonne Gillham ‎– "My Philosophy: Selected Works Of L. Ron Hubbard" (Axioms Records ‎– TCTP 8000) 1971

As creepy as Scientologists seem to be,almost without exception, I don't think L. Ron can be accused of the same pervy crimes that most other cultleaders are undoubtedly very guilty of.
This endless psychobabble can sound ,at times, like complete common sence, and one can clearly see why this philosfoohey of the bleeding obvious appeals to one dimensional nothings like John Travolta and Tom Cruise. There is something fundamentally disquieting about enforced 'Happiness'.A wide beaming smile can hide a whole range of personality disorders, hence the use of the phrase 'Happy House' as an alternative reference for a secure mental institution.
This stuff is the new Buddhism, obvious but unattainable solutions to obvious and, sadly, too attainable problems. They pride themselves on not only being a 'godless' belief, but also claim a scientific and psychotherapuetic basis to their beliefs. Again the word 'Love' is used often to deflect from the clear mind controlling methods that are applied.........Nah, it ain't mind control it's Love, you're part of the problem.
Both Buddhism and Scientology also have recognizable Gods. One being Buddha himself, and the other, noneother than Lafayette Ronald Hubbard, pulp science fiction writer, musician, inventor and cult leader.
I don't have to tell you that this is weird as fuck!.....and ,knowing the reputation of Scientolgy's zero tolerence policy for anyone who slags them off in any way, this may be the last thing I write before I get closed down for the third time.

Well, I do remember that in his later years he always had two girls dressed up as nurses walking with him at all times carrying his ashtray :) And if I remember correctly he started Scientology on a bet, I bet I can start a cult and be successful with it! And hey, we did get a very funny episode of South Park out of it!!!

I read some of his science fiction books, not all that bad, pretty standard stuff from the pulp magazine era....

They have this whole series, I forget where, the History Channel or something which is very negative about this cult, talking with ex members and so on, the same channel, what ever channel it is also has another program going where they save people who want to leave cults but for who it's hard for all kinds of reasons to leave, I was kind of wondering what's the agenda behind these series....

I hope you've got some mormon related music :) Those guys are total nutjobs but very, very powerful....

Fascinating stuff, and there's so much of it, you could fill up a whole blog with it and still only touch the tip of the iceberg....

The Nazi's and their Thule Society, the Sufi's and other weirder Islamic offshoots, man just mainstream Christianity or Islam is insane.... My friend Jose, (who runs the excellent http://gorish.blogspot.com/ ) when he was a youngster back in the 80's, he would write to each and every cult and weird group he could find, World wide, asking for material, he has a treasure trove of the weirdest shit, every now and then he'll post some on Facebook, a lot of it just boggles the mind....

Back in the 90's, because of an ex-girlfriend I got into Reiki, went to Osho parties and shit, I might have talked about all that before here in the comment section, some weird shit all right....

One of the reasons I like Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea's Illuminatus!!! trilogy so much, they were editors for Playboy magazine in the late 60's and they would get tons of letters with the craziest conspiracy theories etc., so they wrote these books, on the premise that all those letters they were getting described real things, real happenings, quiet a long read and without at least a bit of knowledge of 60's counter culture quiet a hard read, but such a wild ride and so much fun :)

Yeah i had those Anton-Wilson books...wild stuff.
This stuff is in danger of taking over the blog for a while...the trouble is i see almost everything as a cult, and whats more its all DIY stuff.
Christian puppet records are some of my favourite things especially.
It certainly seems popular, my viewing figures have spiked.

Oh I love those Christian albums, always looking for more, the weirder or sillier the better :) But very HARD to find 'em in a country that's mostly Muslim. I do collect lots of Muslim music like Gambus and Qasidah, fantastic music and also very hard to find 'cause, well, everybody here is looking for 'em....
