Akira Ifukube and Toho SFX ‎– "Sound Effect Of Godzilla 1 - Godzilla and his Friends" (Toshiba EMI Ltd ‎– T23-1073) 1984

Frankly, the best sound ever made,EVER, is,of course, Godzillas raking analogue screech/scream/roar, or whatever it could possibly be described as.
So, as our brief journey into the realms of Japanese noise comes to a reluctant end.It only seems natural to pay a tribute to the sounds that could only have influenced our noisy chums in Merzbow, Incapacitants and all, in their future endeavors.
Godzilla's original 1954 roar was created by composer Akira Ifukube, who dragged a resin-coated leather glove along the loosened strings of a double bass,to sound like a steel chair scraping over a polished concrete floor.Something similar was done to create the second best sound ever, the sound of Dr Who's Tardis when it de-materialises.
All this stuff can be done electronically now.....but it sounds shit.
So here's an album full of Godzilla and His/her(i think Godzilla was female,at least in the 'Son of...' movie?) Friends making a gamut of various screeches ,yells, and rasping noises.
If you remain sane after sitting through the whole of this then you deserve a certificate printed on the finest scent impregnated toilet roll.

When i was a child i used to go to all new Godzilla and related Movies, pretending to go to later Morning Mass in a different church in the city then my parents ,on the ground that it what later and they knew that the local priest was much more entertaing (i.e. less boring) then the one in "our" Church. When i was doing this with an elder brother and a sister, one of them had to go the the church indeed, since my parents found out about our scam, since we were not able to repeat correctly what was talked about in the Church when we were asked upon. The subject of the preaching is the same in all catholic churches on a Sunday,we learnt the hard way....

Maybe if the Bible was more like a Japanese monster movie the christian church wouldn't be dying on its feet?.....well actually the Bible is very much like a Japanese Monster movie in fact.Lots of fighting,killing,brutality,destruction,fear.....the list goes on....also, and maybe the main similarity between the two genres,is that they are both 100% fictional, from variousfigments of the human imagination.
Although Godzilla wins out over Jesus because Jesus's roar was well rubbish.
