Cleaners From Venus ‎– "In The Golden Autumn" (Man At The Off Licence ‎– Frau 006) 1983

More psych tinged jangly pop genius from Wivenhoe's DIY legends, Cleaners from Venus. Doesn't reach the melodic highs of "Midnight Cleaners" or "On Any Normal Monday", but still a brave manifestation of 1967 vintage British pop for a 1983 audience. Politically astute 80's psychedelia that présaged the oncoming C86 garbage, with a total lack of feyness and/or fringes! All this produced with an apparent total lack of commercial ambition,an attitude that would save us all from oblivion, and starve the Illuminati of its power source. Don't pay your taxes, quit your job, picket your former place of slavery, close your bank account and share your stuff. The underlying philosophy behind DIY culture,as epitomised by Cleaners from Venus,is Individualism in a sustainable, non profit, non greed, environment.Mass Civil Disobedience is the true Democracy. The sound of freedom.

    1. Hi, yeah, i can do that.I suppose some things do need upgrading. Just keep checking. Will try and do one later on. It is a boring process, thats why i don't offer FLAC as a rule. CFV deserve it i guess?

    2. I understand and I really appreciate it. If there was a way to pay you for your services/donate, then I would gladly do so. Also, I agree, CFV unequivocally deserves it.

  5. Yeah, but it takes up loads of memory space does FLAC...don't understand its appeal myself. Used to have a donate button, but decided it would make me look like a money grasping hypocrite......CFV/Martin Newell are up there with Ray Davies and Macca for legendary melodic pop mastery. Not much of a Beatles fan myself, but i can see what they(the Public) mean. Lennon was a bit of a one noter songwise.....his "avant garde" stuff with his wife was the best stuff he did.
I did run into Yoko in strawberry Fields central park, opposite the Dakota Building was too starstruck to not giggle with excitement....you couldn't make that up....tee he hee its Yoko look its Yoko. My gf was worse. I'm not as cool as you think.

    1. Yes it can take up a lot, I’ve got almost two terabytes of wav, flac and some mp3 where necessary. I don’t believe anyone would perceive you in such a way, for you provide a great service to those who are interested like me in the lost and forgotten treasures of audio cassettes. I don't blame you for your opinion of the “Fab Four”, I do get tired after a while myself of them, even if I dearly cherish the music. To contrast what you’ve said, I’m not a fan of Yoko, but I can’t deny that I wouldn’t be acting the same way in front of her. I would laugh though if she started wailing ahaha. So, in my assessment, you’re certainly very cool.
