Throbbing Gristle - "New T.G." (unofficial C-60) 1982



Don't know anything about this, but it sounds like a rehearsal tape.Recorded in 1976, and it is excellent. This doesn't appear anywhere on CD, neither TG24 or TG+, and it doesn't appear to be on Industrial Records either! Two long tracks, therefore no track listing.

    There's allegedly a 2nd volume too, but whenever I've found a copy to download it's merely been a muddier dub of the same tracks but with the sides swapped 'round (i.e. side 2 is first).

    TG were certainly very prolific early on though, eh?

    So, does anybody own the 2 "Best Of T.G." cassettes the band released in 1976/77?

    Yes, i think they recorded virtually every rehearsal, live performance and jam session.There is probably more lurking out there somewhere.

    A lot of it is surprisingly pseudo-Tangerine Dreamish too! Not surprisingly, given Gen & Chris's hippy haircuts at the time, I suppose? ;)

    ps - have also got the 8 track recordings that eventually became 'TG 1 ' on mute records,sounds far better without enhancements
