I bought the cassette back in the day, and consequently missed all the decades of wrangling over why the LP sounded like shit. The copy master that was released last year is excellent, as was the tape, as was the Lost 77 Masters version, all of which suggested that the UK vinyl edition was a victim of bad mastering rather than anything else. For all that's said about it, even the crappy original LP is listenable. The only edition that needs to be killed by fire is the hopeless 80s remix performed by a drug-addled Thunders, aided and abetted by the utterly talentless Tony James.
Slackernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8624282421125812337.post-63548325404674951352022-09-26T23:11:32.464+02:002022-09-26T23:11:32.464+02:00…………………...„„-~^^~„-„„_

He also produced a superior version of Stretcher Case (not included here). They were released as a giveaway 7" when they played the Marquee in summer 1977.

If that record had been released properly they would no doubt have had a decent sized hit. But instead they missed the boat and the follow-up was the dire Problem Child. Doh!!!!!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
